One of the newest venues in Colorado Springs is one of the oldest Churches in town – The Carter-Payne Event Center. When Colorado was still a territory, the Carter family established the first church for persons of color at this site on land donated by Colorado Springs founder General William J. Palmer. The chapel, named for Bishop Daniel A. Payne, became the spiritual and social center for African Americans for more than a century.
It is absolutely gorgeous inside and out and I felt really honored to be invited to this inaugural shoot. Together with my friends and very talented Colorado photographers John Hudetz, Kent Meireis and Sean Cayton, it was exciting to shoot at this venue for the very first time. We all knew everything we photographed had never been shot before at this venue. We discovered interesting angles and new locations and dramatic light situations inside and outside of the church. It was very motivational for all of us.
Sandy Vanderstoep, owner of Garden of the Gods Gourmet, renovated the church and returned it to its proper place as an incredible 2,000 sq. ft. space for weddings and events. I hope this venue will see may weddings in the future.

All the helping hands, who put this event together:

Just finished the photos of my last shoot with Marie-Margot Bridal Couture. Here are a few of my favorite frames. As always I worked with a great team on this shoot: Designerin Maggie Burns, Mary Spicer of Spicer’s Weddings and the models Zoe Fritz and Oumou. By the way: Congratulation to Oumou 303 Magazine just made “Oumou the Female Model of the Year 2011″. Absolutley deserved, just look at the photos.

Thank you to Designer Maggie Burns and Mary Spicer from Spicer’s Weddings

Thanks Mary your add in 303 Magazine looks fabulous!

If you are getting married and you are still looking for your wedding gown, don’t look any further. I saw Marie-Margot Bridal Couture gowns on stage at the Red Ball on Sunday. Fabulous gowns made in Denver.
I just can’t stop working on these photos! There are so many of them that I want to share from the wedding of Marcella and Stephen. It brings me back to the incredible time I spend at the Kapalua Villas with them. What a wonderful celebration of their love and what a perfect place to get married. I hope you enjoy this preview.

I think Greek weddings are so much fun. Part of it might be the fact, that I’m from Europe and I can relate to a lot of the traditions. Stacy and Shawn had their ceremony at the Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church and the reception at the Inverness Hotel in Denver. It was an amazing celebration of love and traditions. The reception at the Inverness Hotel was a true celebration of happiness. Special thanks to Terri Decker from Muse Events and Pamela Engman Pam E Productions. That was an amazing wedding the two of you put together for Stacy and Shawn, a true celebration of their love. Also thank you to my friend Bill Yaeger, who helped me to create so many memories for Stacy and Shawn.
