Senior photos shoot are always fun for me. Here is the result from last weeks photo shoot.

Here is what John’s mom told me after I showed her the first photo above: “I love it! That is really expressive and shows how John is. It really speaks to me. Thank you Hardy.” – This is what portrait photography is for me in general, showing the people how they are.

I think I have the best in-laws in the world, so I decided show them a little closer to you, through the rangefinder of my camera. There is still something special about using real film in your camera. I shot these photos with the good old Ilford HP5 and my Leica M6.

One of the best compliments you can get as a photographer is when a client calls you back for another photo session. What better photo opportunity than to photograph the first baby. I shot Barbara and Adam’s wedding 3 years ago in Colorado Springs. It was a wonderful, big wedding. Twenty four friends in the wedding party, 500 guests at the reception and 2 happy clients. Now they are three and baby Lucas keeps them very busy. Congratulation to you… Barbara and Adam.

It was a very european Saturday morning when Erin, Eric and I met. That means it was cold and grey, but had a very charming light. I love those Saturday mornings. They always remind me where I come from. The three of us just walked around the neighborhood where Erin and Eric live close to the Platte River Park in downtown Denver. We talked about their wedding in September and how they met. Finally we stopped in one of the local coffee shops. As I mentioned a very european Saturday morning. Love those days. Eric and Erin – I can’t wait to shoot your wedding.
May I introduce my 14 years old niece Stella from Germany. During her first time visit in the USA Stella was overwhelmed with everything, especially the Stores. It was hard for her family to keep her away from the malls and out of the stores. Every morning when we talked about the plans for the day, Stella only had one plan: “Let’s go shopping”. That was her favorite line. She just loved it. Of course I had to photograph her. I mean this was an opportunity I couldn’t pass. Isn’t she beautiful? – I think Stella did good for her first photo shoot, even though it was raining and very cold during the shoot. It kept her out of the stores for a while, which made her parents very happy.
