Check out a few frames from my trip on the Road to Hāna. The Hāna Highway is a popular tourist attraction in Maui. It is a 68-mile (109 km) long stretch of Hawaii State Routes 36 and 360 which connects Kahului with the town of Hāna in east Maui. It takes about 2.5 hours to drive when no stops are made as the highway is very winding and narrow and passes over 59 bridges, 46 of which are only one-lane bridges.
I’m known for getting car sickness very easy. My wife and my friends told me to stay away from this road, or you get very sick. I made it and may be snatching some photos here and there helped me to get distracted enough to not get sick at all.
I just can’t stop working on these photos! There are so many of them that I want to share from the wedding of Marcella and Stephen. It brings me back to the incredible time I spend at the Kapalua Villas with them. What a wonderful celebration of their love and what a perfect place to get married. I hope you enjoy this preview.
What an incredible journey to shoot Marcella and Stephen’s wedding at the Kapalua Vilas on Maui. This is the perfect place to spend a week in November. My friend Andreas Gebhard joined me for this assignment. I also have to thank Kerri Butler from A Touch of Bliss Events for her great work. Besides the high-tech gear we used for the trash the dress shoot and the wedding of Marcella and Stephen, Andreas and I also used our iPhones to get some private impressions of our stay on Maui. I think Greek weddings are so much fun. Part of it might be the fact, that I’m from Europe and I can relate to a lot of the traditions. Stacy and Shawn had their ceremony at the Saint Catherine Greek Orthodox Church and the reception at the Inverness Hotel in Denver. It was an amazing celebration of love and traditions. The reception at the Inverness Hotel was a true celebration of happiness. Special thanks to Terri Decker from Muse Events and Pamela Engman Pam E Productions. That was an amazing wedding the two of you put together for Stacy and Shawn, a true celebration of their love. Also thank you to my friend Bill Yaeger, who helped me to create so many memories for Stacy and Shawn.
Marcella and Stephen plan their dream wedding on Maui. Last week we met for the engagement shoot at a cooler and more urban location in downtown Denver. We shot at the most colorful places we could find in Denver as a precursor to the romantic wedding location.
